The Beatles Fan Fiction Directory: Frequently Asked Questions

What is Fan Fiction?

Fan Fiction are stories based on something you are a fan of - in this case - The Beatles. Sometimes this type of fan fiction is also called RP (Real Person) Fan Fiction or Music Fan Fiction, as opposed to Fan Fictions based on fictional characters or existing stories. (For example, Harry Potter or Star Trek.)

What is listed at The Beatles Fan Fiction Directory?

Anything which is Beatles related - this is mostly fictional stories, but you will also find a sprinkling of Poetry, Essays, True accounts and other things.

Will you list my story?

Yes! Submit your story to the directory here! It may be a while before I get around to doing it though, so please be patient - I will put it in eventually! Your story can either be in progress or complete (or published in book form, so long as people can purchase or sample your story online). It must also be freely available to be read on the internet (unless it a published book). This means it must be on a website where anyone can read it without needing passwords, or in the case of blogs or social media sites, without needing to be a friend or follower, etc.

Can you host my story?

I can't currently host any new stories, sorry. I do have a few hosted stories already but due to time constraints it wouldn't be fair for me to agree to host anyone's story currently as I don't know when I'd get time to put it up for you. If you need a place to put your story, I'd recommend you look at Wattpad or use a blog like Wordpress or Livejournal. They're easy to use and you'll have a captive audience!

How can I get more readers for my story?

There's a few tricks you can try. Firstly, make sure you're story is listed in the Beatles Fan Fiction Directory! (Of course!) Secondly, shameless self promotion never hurt! Try posting your story and whenever you update on the BFFD Community, and other places like the Beatlelinks Paperback Writer Forum. Thirdly, get reading other peoples fan fics and leave feedback and comments for them. This will encourage people to take a look at your own stories. I wouldn't recommend you go around badgering people to read it though as that is a tad annoying and might put more people off reading it than will encourage them. Lastly, write good stories. Work on your stories, plan you plotlines, make it as good as you possibly can and the readers will follow.

Can you give me any writing tips?

Can you recommend a good story to read?

I'm looking for a story – Can you help?

I can try. Drop me an email with as much detail about the story you're looking for. If I don't know what/where it is, I will ask on the BFFD Community and Facebook/Twitter sites to see if anyone can help. Please be aware however, our success rate isn't great, but the more you can remember about the story, the better!

My question's not on here....

Send me a postcard, drop me a line, or an email, and I'll see what I can do.
